Researchers at the Chinese Academy of Sciences developed an industrial TOPCon solar cell achieving 26.09% efficiency while reducing silver use and enhancing bifacial power output. By using precise steel-stencil printing for narrow front metal fingers and a localized rear polysilicon contact, the design lowers contact resistance and parasitic optical losses. These improvements allow high-efficiency, cost-effective, and scalable solar cell production, addressing key challenges in the global photovoltaic market.
