Exercise May Help Protect the Brain From Memory Decline

25 February 2026

Scientists at the University of California, San Francisco discovered that physical activity can support brain health by strengthening its protective barrier. Exercise encourages the body to release an enzyme that removes harmful proteins linked to aging and inflammation. Experiments on older mice showed better memory and reduced brain damage after this process. The findings suggest exercise could inspire future treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and age-related cognitive problems.
