Researchers at the University of Bonn found that eating mostly oatmeal for just 48 hours significantly reduced harmful LDL cholesterol in people with metabolic syndrome. Participants who followed a short calorie-restricted oat plan experienced about a 10% cholesterol drop, along with slight weight loss and lower blood pressure. Scientists also observed positive changes in gut bacteria that may support heart and metabolic health. The benefits remained noticeable weeks later, suggesting short intensive oat diets could help improve long-term cardiovascular risk.
